Power transmission in motion

The transmission of power between moving conductors sets particularly high demands when it comes to electrical engineering.

For example, the connecting parts have to be able to compensate for thermal expansion without reducing the transmission performance. For this reason, flexible components such as expansion connectors or braided connectors are often used, which can absorb the motion of the conducting components whilst still guaranteeing a reliable, long-lasting connection.

Sefag Components AG specialises in finding solutions to such complex challenges. Together with our customers, we develop special components and systems in order to meet the individual challenges seen in power transmission. In doing so, we can draw on many years of experience and comprehensive expertise. We then use these qualities to demonstrate both technical and economical optimisation possibilities to our customers. An analysis often shows that the first solution can still almost always be optimised.

Our customers include various specialists from the automotive engineering field. Our components can be found in the electric drive systems of various vehicles – whether in aviation, the car industry or in rail vehicles. Our specialised components are also used as connecting parts for asynchronous motors in ships.

By optimally combining and processing flexible and rigid components made from copper, aluminium and other conductive metals, we are able to develop individual connecting elements in line with specific customer demands. The mechanical production of these high-quality components – which are also reliable in motion – is also one of our core skills, particularly welding and joining technology.
